Move was definitely to placate the fans who still somehow think Pickett is Marino 2.0.

Pressure is definitely on Kenny now tho. No more excuses. If he can't become an even mid-tier QB over the next 7 games, we will certainly be looking to draft/sign one next year.
As a Bills fan, there is nothing better to me than conference competition thinking they've hit on a QB who just needs a little more time to develop--Mac Jones, Zach Wilson, Kenny Pickets, Justin Herbert. This move probably buys Pickets another season at least.

Well, he is a first round pick that conducts himself the right way, stays out of trouble, has the work ethic, etc. He checks all the boxes and while unspectacular statistically, the dude was productive within what many felt was a meh offense, basically averaging around 1400 yards of offense and 10 TD his first two years. But since he got into the league, his touches have gone down and a lot of what he did well -- for example, he was a phenomenal pass-catcher in college and flashed that same ability as a rookie -- is not happening as much now.

He checks all the boxes as far as what you want to represent your team, he's a first round pick and his coach (who is one who values loyalty and so on) all but hand-picked him to be the eventual leader of the Steelers as the current stalwarts get older and eventually fade. He also plays a position where for the most part, you need to have at least two reliable people to work with in today's age.

So I get it.

Warren has been spectacular and deserves more chances, but I really do think Warren might end up like Pollard (who looked great when sharing with Zeke, only to be ho-hum now that it's his show alone) if folks force Najee out the door.

Not trying to hate on Pit cause I like them more than the other 3 teams in the north, but is it time to move on from Tomlin?
Maybe thats controversial or whatever, but I got Warren on my fantasy team and I watch him play and he's light years better than Harris... like... why does Pit need this much organizational clout invested in a goddamn running back? Since about week 3 everyone that follows Pit has been saying Harris is trash, but you're saying he's not only supposed to be rb1, but hes supposed to be some goddamn cornerstone of the organization moving forward?
Why?
Most disposable position on the field.
Feels like for about a half a decade now people are just like
"mmm, this is the blessed steeler way, right here, and i love it :wow:" while the team goes 9-8 and gets worked in the wildcard round.
Team feels about 2 trends behind the rest of the NFL at this point.

:childplease:

So you want Najee who's 231 pounds to drop 25 pounds and run the football in Pittsburgh as their lead foundation back at 206 lbs?

Cmon man

:mjlol:

He's just not a great RB

There's nothing that can be done

He was drafted in the 1st rd

The Steelers missed on him and Pickett
for his career if he wants to have any chance of a resurgence. Just by him being on a bama team will get him some looks on another team the Steelers are totally out of the picture as far as I’m concerned.

Canada is gone, this line is still hot ass out side of 2 people and this offense will essentially be run the same because of Tomlin’s stubbornness, and Kenny ain’t going anywhere.

I guess I’m in the minority of people who don’t think he is as bad as people make him out to be, I’ll take that L if he out the league in a few years :manny:

warren is a generation talent he different.

Cold hard truth right here:francis:

And if we somehow make the playoffs this year, there's a good chance we're gonna get stomped again:francis:
