I'm not going to go into details of what actually takes place when a person pledges.
When you pledge expect:
Physical Pain
Mental Pain
Exhaustion
Physical pain comes from the paddle, activities, or guys punches/slaps.
-You can get hit for not remembering the Greek alphabet (when you have to spit), coming late to meetings, and not remembering your frat's history
Mental Pain
-You will be humiliated, some of the humiliation involves females. Clowning your masculinity is what the females will do and you can't do any hing except sit there and take it. You will most likely be in your underwear or shorts.
-You have to share your darkest secrets. To know someone who knows something that can break you is painful.
Exhaustion
-The pledging process can last anywhere from three weeks to 4 months.
-You have to balance class, being woken up in the middle of the night, and being unable to talk to anybody outside organization socially.
People who have ties with the christian community will probably have a problem with D9 frats because of them worshiping deities. IOTAS worships the Centaur.
The thing with the Kappas being gay or on the DL originated in Atl. Many people have heard stories about a lot of brehs in Atl being on DL, Kappas weren't seen as men in the D9 eyes so they was accused of being gay. When the rumors about Kappas started spread, they have already crossed some DL nikkas because there was so many and it was bound to happen. DL nikkas got some power, became Pros, and started adding some gay ish into the pledging ritual. One bad apple spoiled the bunch and now people believe D9 have gay rituals. The rituals of the D9 were passed on through generations, changing the ritual is acceptable to some degree but should never stray to far from the original rituals.

The video of the egg passing is not from a real frat. It was used as promotion for a movie about the D9 and the danger of pledging. The people in the video are the creators of the movie.

I remember my boy was telling a story about how his boy who pledged; him and 3 other dudes had to eat a bathtub full of mashed potatoes and in the bottom of the bathtub was a video. They watched the video and it was all the frat members jackin off into the bathtub
Im a Alpha, i regret every dollar and moment i wasted with that bullshyt.Thread has some points but take it from me; being a greek means embracing CAC culture, it was never meant for black folks to begin with. I remember i was not allowed to eat for a entire week during my pledge, i was stealing cheetos from the girls dorm.
The volunteer work was a joke, simply a ruse to fool people into thinking we were a legit organization. And where are all my so called "brothers" now? its only been 5 years ago and the only benefit i've gotten from it was getting some ass i could have easily got without it.
So they expected nikkas to starve? And that isn't even close to some of the gayest/craziest shyt these nikkas make them pledges do

Lots of wild speculation with little confirmation here. I pledged a BGLO and never did any of the "homo" sh*t yall are talking about. In undergrad I did more community service than a lot here probably did combined. That's really alot of what my chapter was about. I talk to my line brothers regularly and we get together a few times during the year to party. It's never about buy friends; I was friends with half of my line before we crossed. I'm not financially active now but I'm still heavily involved in the community. I learned a great deal of African history during my "process" so the worshiping Greeks thing isn't relevant either. Altogether it's one of the best decisions I've ever made. I definitely know people who have had horrible experiences though and that's on their particular chapter.

All other frats would view the kappa's as homo
There was always stories about some homo shyt the kappa's were doing on campus...
Every semester there were dudes who would just straight drop off the line cause the kappas was asking them to do some homo shyt...
I know a dude who stopped pledging cause he said the kappas took him and some other pledges in the woods, made them get on their knees, tried to blindfold them and make them eat doughnuts off their dikks
