I'm low key heated that:

A. Someone had the audacity to put out a product titled "crazy rich Asians" which really confirms that yes, Asians are making tons of fukking money as a group

B. Someone has the sheer balls to tell us, a group that has been here from the very beginning and struggling to go and spend our own fukking money to support a film with a title and premise that explicitly makes it clear that they're doing significantly better than us. Like really I'm amazed at how out of touch people can be that they don't have even a moment to think about the bullshyt they're about to say before they say it and how it will look.:whoo:

Ride for people who think you're subhuman brehs

I like it when I start to see more black people realizing that other 'minorities' arent out here risking their lives to speak out against black incarceration and violence. Everyone is out for themselves. Asians could not begin to give less than half of a nanofukk about anti-black racism. Where are the Asians speaking out about the alt right? Where are the Asians donating to charities that support victims of police violence? Or legal defense funds? Where are the Asians putting in work to prevent violence in black communities? Where are the Asians promoting black employment?

Meanwhile we have c00nish Asians like Michelle Malkin or Dinesh D'Souza spouting white supremacy without getting checked. Get all the fukk out of here with this bullshyt. Their struggle isn't double digit unemployment numbers, it's not police brutality, neocolonization, civil wars stoked by foreign powers, literal slavery(look at arab enforced black slavery in the contemporary middle east or even in mauritania and northern africa) wrongful imprisonment, diabetes, gun violence.

No, Their struggle is that they don't get enough admition to elite universities so they can cement their privilege; and people make fun of them for seeming "foreign" and being good at math. Are you going to sit here with a straight face and tell me Asians don't have heroes when shyt like Hong Kong cinema, Japanese films and Korean dramas exist? Get all the fukk out of here with this bullshyt. I'm tired of people asking us to care about people that have zero energy for our struggles. They'll be alright.

And to further twist that knife Asians have the highest median family income in the US. Slim, these mfers talking about struggles and they out earn cacs in this country.

A city that got its independence the same year as Jamaica.

Of course, Jamaica never had the geographic advantages of Singapore but Jamaica also never had a visionary leader like Lee Kuan Yew (the first Prime Minister of Singapore).

Where's the black version of Singapore?

I'm not saying black people should go watch it. I damn sure won't. I've been following the numbers of its flop. They were projecting it waaaaaay higher than where it has landed. It was set to be a blockbuster and they really did push it hard.

If they wanted to grab a diverse audience they should have added a black character with a significant role. Instead they probably just surrounded a bunch of asians with 1 white guy.

I should have wrote "this movie is important to THEM because..."

I can see where you thought I was actually promoting this crap looking film
Lets keep it a buck if this movie flops its cuz its main characters are AM/AW BET money if it was AW/WM this shyt would do marvel numbers.

What geographic advantage does Singapore have that Jamaica doesn’t?

Jamaica is 16x bigger and has less citizens.

Cut the BS excuses!

Ask your Caribbean brehs why they haven’t created one.
I don’t live on an island.

Singapore is prime example that being a small island nation doesn’t stop your from being a global force if your are determined enough to make it happen.

Singapore is located at a water-borne crossroads for ships going East-West from East Asia (ex. China) and South Asia (ex. India)

Relatively speaking, Jamaica's location isn't really relevant. If you want to ship to America, you can just ship to Baltimore, New York, New Orleans and bypass Jamaica. If you want to sail to the Pacific, go through Panama and once again bypass Jamaica.

Jamaica could be a lot better off, but it's geographic location didn't help it - unlike Singapore.

Cold war screwed us.
You'd be surprised how paranoid the CIA was at the time.

Between Edward Seaga and Michael Manley, Ja got fukked for getting friendly with Cuba.
It's really under the JLP administration (very U.S friendly party) that Jamaica has started making moves.

Just got back from seeing this movie like I said I would, since I already paid through A-list. Anyway, I'd compare it more to "Coming to America", however no where near as funny back in the day. I found it kinda boring, with some touchy scenes here and there. It had a little comedy here and there too, but you had to pay close attention to catch it, with everybody being Asian and all. Women would probably enjoy it more, with the touchy moments. Anyway, instead of comparing it to any kind of Black struggle, I left outta there kinda remembering what Amos Wilson and Claud Anderson said about how other races get paid off of African-American struggles, achievements, and talents. They even had a happy-go-lucky Asian woman acting like a sister. That, and seeing how much of "Coming to America" was in this movie reminded me even more of what Amos Wilson and Claud Anderson were talking about. But the movie was more like coming to Singapore, then back to America. But anyway, no way would I have come out my pocket to see this. And to be honest, I feel foolish for even watching "Coming to America" today. As far as "Black Panther" making a way for African actors in Hollywood, this movie may be doing the same for the Chinese. They're beginning to pop up a lot in Hollywood lately.

By the way, Blacks walked out this theater not looking too impressed. But some of them, especially the women, may have not wanted other Blacks to think they enjoyed it, since it wasn't hardly any Blacks in this movie.
