can you help us understand BW's issues that aren't directly tied to your blackness?
I will rep you for that. That is why Black feminism/womanism is NOT needed. It has no end goal and it is completely a waste. Every black issue a black woman deals with is tied to her blackness. Non black people do not look at black women as women. Instead they look at black women as black first and then loud, obnoxious, finger snapping, stupid people. Non blacks do not associate femininity with black women. So I ask black feminist/womanist who exactly are you fighting? Black men aren't oppressing you. Black men weren't raping you on the fields. Black men weren't banning you from getting an education. Black men weren't banning you from making something of yourself. Yes there are trifling black men out there.I get it....I've met some already and will meet some more. At the same time black men as a whole are not oppressing black women. The fact that both black men and women are seen as black first is one the biggest reasons to stand together, cooperate, and fight the oppressive system. As a black woman in America you can not go off on your own saying, "I am going to make my own group and exclude black men" because you are going up against a patriarchal racist oppressive system. You will NOT win on your own. You can not say my issues are separate from black men because we are all black first. You will not be able to separate yourself and build your own infrastructure separate of white supremacy. No matter how much you talk about black feminism/womanism you are still under white supremacy. You can work in corporate America, become a principal, become a doctor, a nurse, a teacher, a librarian and etc but white supremacy will still be functioning and you will be working for a non black owned company.
Most black feminist do not like black men, and have some weird hatred/attitude towards black men. I have seen it before. Most are open lesbians, closeted lesbians, want non black men, or want an emasculated black man that will agree with everything they say and believe in something called black male privilege. I understand that as black people we have our own issues that we have to resolve but going off on your own to form a group that will achieve NOTHING socially, politically, or economically makes absolutely no sense. Exactly what has black feminist achieved in the past 4 decades? For the most part nothing.
