You don't get it. The point is, black women are forgotten and don't matter, being fetishized for our features is one segment of racial/gender oppression we face.
Coming from a mix breed with a white father?
It's not that you guys are being forgotten,
It's the fact that black men are in worse shape.
Are you a female of color? Because I'm not understanding why you feel entitled to speak over females of color when you have NEVER lived your life as one. Your experiences are not going to be the same point blank period! This isn't even up for debateIt's not that you guys are being forgotten,

This system she has a grievance with was put in place by men who look like her white father. The seed of a cac has zero room to talk. She is a young woman of color with a Black mother. She comes from a place of more authenticity when speaking about race and gender then say a Black Man.
So please, hush.

Opinion pieces like this seem to serve naught but to attempt to persuade a certain race to acquiesce to black beauty standards. They shouldn't, and frankly I am long past caring about what the average twitter cac thinks. There are better ways to fix this (self esteem issues) that are, thankfully, picking up steam. Black girls rock was nice, and so is Tumblrs 'blackout', Michael may be labeled creepy, but perhaps that 'beauty of everyday black women' thread raised someones self esteem.
I am in the interest of freeing my black brothers from their poisonous mindsets, an affect of imperialism, so that they can appreciate black beauty.
Am I wrong in not thinking fondly of a black woman in antebellum (I believe, if not that than some other whitewashed bullshyt) fashion, yelling out to -something- about eurocentric standards of beauty, and their effects on black women?
Stop begging cacs to find you pretty.

Nobody asking anybody to find us pretty, but to dehumanize us and then praise themselves for having our features is ridiculous.
If she's challenging it then I don't see the problem.
That's what it boils down to.Thoughts?
