Be 10 Years Old and a Genius in Mathematics and already about to get a College Degree brehs...........
10-Year-Old Math Genius Studying for University DegreeÂ
On one hand, Esther Okade is like any other 10-year-old, crazy about Disney’s Frozen and playing with her dolls.
On the other hand, The Telegraph reports, this math genius is also studying to complete a math degree from Open University despite her young age.
According to the news site, Esther is one of the United Kingdom’s youngest university students, and she is already at the top of the class after three weeks, getting a perfect score on one recent test.
Apparently the math-whiz gene runs in Esther’s family: Her 6-year-old brother, Isaiah, is also showing his own genius in high-school-level math.
"Isaiah is following in his sister's footsteps. He is doing calculus and advanced algebra," Esther’s mother, Efe, told The Telegraph. "Even when he was in my tummy, Esther was already teaching him."
Her mother said that enrolling a 10-year-old into university was "an interesting process."
"After [the university] interviewed her, they realized that this has been her idea from the beginning," Efe told The Telegraph.
"From the age of 7, Esther has wanted to go to university. ... But I was afraid it was too soon," the mother said of her precocious child. "She would say, 'Mum, when am I starting?' and go on and on and on. ... Finally, after three years she told me, 'Mum I think it is about time I started university now.' "
So her mother relented, and after applying, conducting a phone interview, writing an essay and taking a math exam, Esther was accepted into the course.
"She was flying," her mother told the news site. "She was so happy."
"Esther talks about running her own bank one day," added her mom. "She has a lot of plans and talks a lot about finances. ... She says she wants to be a millionaire."
A waste if she uses her gift for making a lot of money
Word, while it is a beautiful thing, these kids are robbed of childhoods/teen yrs/etc, the hell she need to be going to college right now for? She will be 14 when she graduates.
I meant for humanity. Imagine if someone like Faraday decided to become a lawyer for example. He would be financially better off but we wouldn't have made the link between electricity and magnetism.
Since when is using your gifts to setup your grandkids future a waste?
