How lost a species we are...

Got people arguing for and against the bible...

The answer is to look inside yourself unbiased and deprogrammed and you will find the answers.

The overall point of the bible and most religions is to remind you that the flesh and physical are not our permanent home. Everything else doesn't matter because in our true form (spirit) we have nothing to worry bout.

The problem is that we fell in love with the physical and refuse to leave here.

Why would a spirit fear a lake of fire?

don't argue son....we won't win lol
"Win"? how can anyone win an argument if either party is unwilling to agree on first principles? When both parties are unlikely to waver in their conviction.

it's just two parties rambling for no reason other than to stroke their egos.

OK...I am not the foremost person of knowledge when it comes to the bible

but you got to be pretty stupid to not understand that having slaves was common practice in those days. Just about everyone had some form of slave.. And that those scriptures were basically guidelines to treating slaves fairly...

And slaves back in those times weren't really slaves, like someone mentioned before. Not like you and I know slaves to be.. they were basically similar to indentured servants (but probably treated better) from other tribes that were able to earn their freedom or earn their way into another tribe.. at least in certain areas (and Africa) I believe. Which is why some Africans even gave europeans "slaves" because they expected them to be treated similar to how Africans treated "slaves"... which obviously wasn't the case

So it's not like it was being condoned to have slaves, it was more like thats whats been going on forever so here's your instruction manual if you follow the Bible...

Oh and I haven't read everything in the bible, I don't understand everything to the fullest, but what I got from reading it was to love one another. :manny:

What's wrong with the verses?

Israelites were allowed to have slaves per instructions of a supernatural being coming directly into contact with them

tell me how that compares with what we went through

slavery is just a word used to describe some of the pain inflicted upon us

think government sanctioned psych warfare/terrorism to a targeted minority over the course of a few centuries.

Black Christians in and of themselves are a symbol of that.

Also you should do a better analysis of the context of that verse before trying to flip it like its grounds for us to go through our 400 years of mental and physical torture. Deuteronomy 28 outlines the explanation of our holocaust.

The fact that the bible was centered around that time and its customs indicate that the god of the bible if taken literal was fallible.

A all powerful being would not be restricted to such. It could have squashed slavery then and there because it should not have been beyond its power.

Who would want to serve such a LIMITED being? The god on the bible, torah, and various religious text is sooooooo...human...

Why would a all powerful being, alone in its rule be jealous? Why does these gods need/want the help of people?

Not to knock anyones thing but some people need to answer these questions themselves.

Obviously...but if Genesis said we came from monkeys you would be claiming it as fact in 2013. Am i lying or not?

c'mon man...this is too easy fam. I'm not trying to tell you how to live your life, do you...but if you can't answer this question with a "no, i wouldn't believe we came from monkeys" then you're all the way fukked up and proved my point about the sheep mentality.

If the Bible stated it, then it would be true and obviously believers of the Word would believe it's true because we're BELIEVERS. Now, if scientists came out tomorrow and said there was no way the Earth and all lifeforms on it weren't created by a higher power, you would believe it too, correct?

scientists use evidence to support their claims. they don't make shyt up and then believe that.

The bible says god created plants on earth before the sun was created :pachaha:
