Matthew 5:17-20
New International Version (NIV)

The Fulfillment of the Law
17 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. 18 For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. 19 Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20 For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven.

What a lot of you don't understand is Christianity at its roots is as Amoral as you can get.

The Greek philosophical(Pagan) principles such as democracy, equality, morality, etc don't mesh with Christianity and it never was supposed to.

In contrast, Christianity is based on Authority and Monarchy

Just as Christians are slaves to God, Christians are to have servants or slaves themselves.

The same way God provided Adam with Eve to be his servant

The idea of slavery might be wrong in your "enlightened" eyes but not in the all-knowing God's.

so how can you believe in that which hasn't been confirmed across the scope of religion/

I don't deal with religion. I deal with the Laws, Statutes, and Commandments listed in the Bible. Now to answer your question, a different translation doesn't mean it's interpreted differently than the original texts. It means it's translated from the original text whatever way they wanted it translated for whatever purpose. For example, let's look at a scripture from two different Bible verses

1611 King James Version
Proverbs 3:5
Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

Good News Translation
Proverbs 3:5
Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Never rely on what you think you know.

These verses essentially say the same thing, but they are different translations. Obviously this can lead to manipulation, but that's why people have read the original text and compared it. It is widely accepted that the 1611 King James is the most accurate available.

What words have you read that wasn't written by an author? :bryan:

so going by this logic I should dress up in a lil green outfit and attempt to fly like i'm the black peter pan because i read about it? I guess it would be cool for you to do that...seeing as you're already living life based on fiction.

It is widely accepted that the 1611 King James is the most accurate available.

Accurate compared to what...the original bible? Have you seen it? Please enlighten us.

Also, Is there any proof of origins of the first bible? who wrote it? how many times has it been re-written/doctored?
