I never said it was a protective style though, I'm just giving other reasons why black women may not feel very comfortable rocking their hair if it's a certain texture.

I'm not ignorant to work place discrimination of Black women wearing natural hairstyles but even in African countries you got women wearing weave. They report to Black bosses and work in a Black environment. The reason they do it has nothing to do with Black men. If the majority of them start doing it in Africa, then soon Black men in a few generations will be asking a natural sista , ,"what is that nappy shyt?"

One of the reasons IS a lack of confidence. You don't know how many women come up to me and tell me how they want to go natural but can't because either they feel they won't find a man or their boyfriend won't like it. Some black women don't want to rock their natural hair because of the black men they encounter. Is is the reason for ALL black women? No but it is the reason for some.
