Black and Asian Relationships Appreciation

I've always thought there were actually quite a few cultural similarities between chinese/vietnamese/filipino and black people. Being in the bay, we have a lot of intermixing between the two, probably even moreso just on the friendship tips compared to most regions.

I know how you feel Howie, a lot of times when I travel, I'm the only one of my color B. But I did what you said. I broke my cultural constraints, and just tried sh*t. A lot of times, people stereotype because they don't know you. The same way I get the face when people think I'm dumb, is probably the same face you make when b*tches question if you can put it down. Everybody of color has stereotypes, it's the ol' conquer and divide strategy by those in power. You're doin' the right thing, and I hope more and more people grow to think like this.

It's hard being my ethnicity in the game. When you're living your life in hopes of actually putting some effort in trying to reshape/modify peoples opinions about your race of peoples.


99 percent of the time, i've been successful.



For instance, going to Miami this past summer was a challenge. LOL.



I'll save that story for a rainy day.



But yeah... i still think most black folks opinions about asian people is primarily negative. To black folk.. you're either a culture vulture or a flat out racist (seldom a happy medium).



Still think we've got a long way to go... and if there is light at the end of the tunnel - i hope i'm still alive to see it.
