Birdman is the last person they should be holding these conversations with. He's a rapper not a judge, lawyer, or politician
No, but he's a person that distributes music that represents and influences the culture. Stop pushing these Judge lawyer or politicians on people when that's obviously not how you reach the black community.

I don't have a statistic, but I'm sure the majority of the time, people can't even understand what rappers are saying past the hook. And that is on purpose.

Your criminalizing your culture. You saying violence gets your culture going. Your either very confused about what is happening, or a white person.

Bryan Williams is a middle aged man, about 50 who goes by the name Birdman or Baby. He's a 50 year old man who claims to be a Blood and seemingly actively hangs around people of this ilk.

I don't know that he knows better.

We use what we got. Metroboomin isn't any less talented than any of those negroes and cacs from the 80's that used live drums.

Definitely not. All the sounds of the world in a box is next level. People under appreciate the gift of technology. And the gift of the people mastering it.

Naw, me and my cousin were talking about that yesterday. I was watching a David Bowie documentary and they'd be on some "Lets call Kevin Rowland, he'll know which drums to lay down" lol, now we got young dudes out there like "okay lemme thru drums on it *click click*".

Just imagine if they shifted from hip hop and programmed mainstream rock or whatever

Hip hop isn't my culture so I'm not criminalizing my culture. The rappers criminalize the music by rapping about participating in selling drugs, gun violence, and gang affiliations.

That what Uzi is lol. What justice league is. If I'm undertaking you.

But to not overtake the thread... Baby spoke real shyt, blaming the music the kids enjoy... For the environment the kids are in... Is criminalization of their culture.

Also. If the violence in the music and drums got the kids going... That too is African.
The violence is in the lyrics from the rapper not the drums. The rapper's responsible for the words that are coming out of his mouth like the rest of the people in this world.

Black people are waking up consciously and these rappers are gonna be questioned more and more about the content of their music. Its not "just entertainment". This music is being used to keep the most negative stereotypes of black people at the forefront of society's consciousness

Facts. I love gangster rap as much as the next man but for someone to tell me with a straight face that it doesn't have ANY influence on the youth listening, especially those who don't have parents/positive role models, I gotta give them the :childplease: Hip hop has a profound influence on our lives from how we dress to how we talk, so you're telling me kids from broken homes who look up to Rick Ross/young thug etc as role models don't want to mimic their lifestyle or do the dumb shyt they glorify in their music ? I defend rap to the death but nobody can tell me there isn't some truth to that.

How do you limit music to the ends all profound influence on your life.

What about elders...

And because of the criminalization of every aspect of the culture, including the music... For the past 30/40 years... Through policy and propaganda, propaganda like the crime being cause by the music... there are no black men elders. Those that are listen to rap. Those that don't have elders, found knowledge through the oral tradition of rap.

Out of all that rap teaches and does for the culture, for you to look at the closet of it and say that its end all be all, only and dominate, influence is negative. Is criminalization AND Self hate

Self hate cause what do you really think of yourself. If you believe crime and negative is what comes from the culture, yet you are here?

If you believe that, then you think that of yourself. Right now. Smh, that your culture is a negative influence on your overall goodness as a human being.
