the softest shyt
especially with fans and music ... even sports now
is when you call someone who's right a hater or bitter because they son you

if you were this positive all enchanting figure you would give the man his respect and accolades
ive hated that shyt for the past 15 years... people pretending to be positive and playing dumb to look moral, because they aint shyt in reality

He's right though.

He's been saying this for awhile. And if we're being honest, he's on point. There was a point when you had to have your own sound. And if your shyt sounded like someone else's, you'd be crucified in Hip Hop. Originality started dying around the late 90's and everyone started shifting to whatever sound was popular at the time. If it sold, then producers would jack that sound and run with it. But this is really what separates the greats from the average random "producer" these days.

He is correct and he said in the ig that he was guilty of this too. I don’t understand the problem at all.

Close to 100% producers are afraid to be different than their peers. Which is why everything Is so lifeless. You can cry about all you want, I will give you a perfect example.

go put on that offset solo record, shyt sounds like tutorial “how to make generic trap music & not even get scorched for it” You want to see something terrible? Put on any hop hop record that samples 90’s r&b, I promise you they will do the most pedantic sample, they will do the same trodding thing, it will likely be filtered, it will be a typical record & it will be so ponderous with a 5 second sample (if that ) . And this producer will expect a reaction for this phoned in noncreative “ I was scared” record.

For some reason everyone has gotten so slack on creativity in production. Rakim is a better producer than any of these mf’s that radio dj’s are gassing on twitter. And that’s not even his greatest attribute. but it’s important for people to understand this. Rakim isn’t just a lyrical innovator he was a producer innovator. Those first 4 lp’s , you could never guess what this dude would arrange or mix together. Most people still have no clue Rakim did the majority of his production.

It says everything when I listen to someone and I say “shyt, this producer is really so unskilled he thinks this warrants acclaim” Or he’s so dense that he never has taken the time to look at producers that came before him.

I don’t know what to think about producers who should know better who are gassing up novice level talent for clout, I guess.

A lot of the issue, I think, is a product of how songs get made now.

When you look at the credits. Now, more than ever, you'll see multiple credits. Most of it is someone putting together a beat, or the skeleton of it, and it getting reworked by others. There are plenty of cases where that ends up transforming the song into something completely different or better, but now it seems as if it just results in songs falling more in line with the common sound.

Bink completely has a point about people biting styles, but at the same time, producers need placements in order to keep producing. So, if that means they have to tread in a lane that someone else pioneered, then that's what's going to happen.

Bink's problem is that he doesn't seem to get that in music, recognition is a two way street. Why would anyone rush out to acknowledge someone who is quick to air them out on social media, and try to diminish their accomplishments?
