I guess because Austin's handled it better than just about every other prominent celeb who got caught up in it. He hasn't been a repeat offender, doesn't draw attention to himself or act like a victim (*cough*Chris Brown*cough*) and has been fairly honest and upfront about all of his alcohol and mental problems during that time.

It doesn't matter. Austin never got a real punishment for it. Chris Brown never got involved in another domestic violence situation but that still didn't stop them from getting on his case.
