I actually did respond.
And you came in here NOT addressing the OP with any substance and you sit here and pretend that what matters is how people define small business and not what a business generates in revenue.

No business, regardless of size deserves to stay in business if they cannot afford to pay their expenses. And just like they pay a fair price for rent, or ingredients, or shipping, or anything else....SO TOO, must they pay a fair price for employees.

And the fact is you don't have a single reason why that shouldn't be the case.

And to bring it back to the OP, the wealthy (which would include these tax avoiders) have the money they claim they don't.

No you did not

The title: "The Coli told me Businesses can't afford to pay employees a living wage"

99% of Businesses are Small Businesses. Meaning the average business includes a Sole Proprietor with 10-15 employees. It shows you are CLUELESS on how businesses are ran. Alot of businesses depending on the industry have small margins. If you raise expenses on an unskilled employee, it throws a wrench in their bottom line

And you said "No business regardless of size deserves to stay in business if it can't pay extra expenses".... Do you know by saying this you are indirectly ok with Small businesses closing down which only makes Billionaire businesses increase in wealth and market share?

Like I said you are a clueless idiot

It doesn't mean small businesses will close down. Only the ones who don't generate enough revenue to pay a fair price for employees. Just like if a restaurant can't afford ingredients, they don't get those ingredients. If you can't afford employees, you don't get employees.

You're not even responding to what I'm saying, just looking for fake militant daps :deadrose: :snoop:

NINETY NINE PERCENT of Businesses are Small Businesses with less than 100 employees. Are you terrified people won't click on your threads if you don't mention the word "Billionaire" ?

Yes but you also fail to mention that 80% of those small businesses have no employees.

Also, of the small businesses that have employees they only employ 46 precent of the private sector, which means that 1% of large corporations employ the majority of the private sector.

You need to dig deeper before you start throwing around insults.

Should that 1% of businesses have that much concentration of wealth and power? Is that good for the average citizen? 🤔

And this is from 2017

It's probably closer to 70%-80% right now :wow:

Richest person in the world 2017:

Richest people in the world 2023:
1
Increase
Bernard Arnault & family$211 billion
Increase

Decrease

Tesla, SpaceX

Richest person in the world didn't even break $100 billion a few years ago, now they're rapidly approaching $300 Billion.

Meanwhile:

"Enjoy your 5% raises shonny that's good money right derre."

"A nice $3k raise before taxes this year, don't spend it all in one place."

Trickle down economics didn't work. Many engineers on subreddits will confirm that.
These moguls don't even want to pay taxes that'd have no impact on their way of life in order to help out society.
Look at these bullshyt layoffs, that's the opposite of how trickle down economics works (tax breaks so they can create more jobs, not less).
Additionally they spend their time on social media dunking on poor people.
One of the dumbest decisions ever - a decision our own government (Reagan) made that thought it'd help us.
Time to end this nearly 50-year-old policy.

Yes it does

6.2 million unable to work because employer closed or lost business due to the pandemic, June 2021 : The Economics Daily: U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics

"In June 2021, of the 6.2 million people that did not work at all or worked fewer hours at some point in the last 4 weeks because their employer closed or lost business due to the coronavirus pandemic, 575,000 were age 16 to 24, 3.7 million were age 25 to 54, and 1.9 million were 55 years and over."

"The world’s ten richest men more than doubled their fortunes from $700 billion to $1.5 trillion —at a rate of $15,000 per second or $1.3 billion a day— during the first two years of a pandemic that has seen the incomes of 99 percent of humanity fall and over 160 million more people forced into poverty.

some will, some won't

smartly crafted laws will give small businesses relief in some form or fashion, but make the corporations pay.

I'm sorry.
You're arguing for less than a livable wage and you're hinging it on the coronavirus pandemic?

Remember this?
How many years do you think someone can live like that if they have $1 billion?

The answer is:

1,494.7 years

You can literally live that life style for over 10 lifetimes off a single billion dollars.

Now imagine a "mid" billionaire in 2024 makes $20 billion per year.

Ya'll are shameless
i am not shameless, i’ve literally read plenty of labor laws that are designed to only target employers with more than 100 employees or give smaller employers certain tax benefits

there are ways to give people a liveable wage in this country without using small businesses as a shield to not do it, why are you so against people getting a liveable wage? what should these people who can't afford to live when working a full time job do? work to the point where they have no free time and are essentially just a person who sleeps and works with no free time? is that really a life worth living?
