Sold 57k first week

RD sold 43k

biggie did become the man eventually but it was immediately

The emphasis on first week sales is a new thing what it do first 6 months and what did RD do in comparison?

I don’t know about that. Nas, Biggie, Snoop, and DMX came into the game in a big way. At least bigger than Jay.
Now u moved the goal post. U said debut as the guy. None of them did. Snoop is probably the only one but he the Chronic leading him. it’s like jay is the only rapper that criticized for not being the top guy out the gate. Rakim is probably the only rapper out the gate was the guy

According to their criteria this isn't THAT bad to me

Not gonna moan about Beanie Sigel not being on it if they go by "accomplishments & accolades"...

Is he nicer to me than a good chunk of that list ? HELL YEAH

RD stop being in stores and jay started making/released another album. like I said biggie eventually became the man it wasn’t immediate

He was the man out the gate Ready die went platinum in 6 months, RD took 7 years.

The guy, he was not. snoop still was. Im just going by homey say jay wasn’t the guy in 1996.
Who cares if he was "the guy"?? A lot of ppl were "the guy" and had maybe 2 years or less at the tippy top and fell off a cliff afterwards. Slow and steady is always better.

The funny thing is I know if Jay had had a huge fall off relevancy wise he would be much more celebrated around these parts.
