there are a lot of better rappers than common on that list starting with mos def right ahead of him :ld:

Not for me but I do like Mos Def. I give Common the edge cause his overall catalogue is much stronger than Mos Def's. Black on Both Sides was great but everything else in his solo stuff is meh.

DS2 is it plus Future’s influence far exceeds Common

If we're judging not on the music but based on influence then I'm expecting Eminem to be top 2.

CRITERIA:

From there, the teams took into account the following criteria, not in any particular order: body of work/achievements (charted singles/albums, gold/platinum certifications), cultural impact/influence (how the artist’s work fostered the genre’s evolution), longevity (years at the mic), lyrics (storytelling skills) and flow (vocal prowess

Other than cultural influence, what in their criteria puts Future over Common?

Body of work? No (well, maybe, cause when I read it again they're talking bout charted stuff and Future maybe does better than Common here because his music is less serious and bytches just gonna shake their asses to it regardless. Common's is more conscious shyt which is much better but the masses ain't ever gonna get down to that kind of shyt)

Longevity? No

Lyrics? Hell fukking no.

Flow? Hell fukking no.

They have Lil fukking Kim over Common, Mos Def and Future :damn:

it would be the talk of the 40+ nikkas who host the popular radio shows and podcasts, ie his old fans
I mean, no artist who debuted in the 90s is relevant to anyone under 28 besides Beyonce. But I think Jay would outsell what Kanye did last time. He can reach anyone 28 and older.
