When he "let religion go" like a curler letting go of the ball and the preacher got quieter as the mic got further away I almost gave him a one man standing ovation.

That was a genius way of making his point lol

Might have been my favorite part of the special. Interesting about the varied opinions. I actually enjoyed this special a lot more than his last one. Sometimes I guess if you listen to the podcast you hear a lot of bits before they end up on his specials, and I thought that was especially true of the last one he did. I don't catch the podcast every week anymore, so maybe that's why, but a lot of this was fresh to me.

The religion bit was maybe my favorite part. The .22 caliber bit was funny. I laughed because I'm in NC and I did not laugh when he said "After I mowed the guy's lawn, he asked if I wanted to go shoot his .38 with him." I guess it didn't sound too crazy to me either.

I thought his physicality (no homo) was better on this one than usual. His acting out the guy jumping out of the helicopter from the POV of the pilot and also the jumper was hilarious. The bits on romantic comedies/sex positions was good. My least favorite were the domestic abuse part and the groups/overly sensitive people parts, because he's covered those on previous specials and the podcast.

4/5. Burr is a top 3 comic working today, and probably my favorite. Also, the special was a little long at 90 mins. He could've shaved 15 mins off.

Yeah, when he was doing the pilot trying giving the tour then trying to hold on to him, I could picture the 2nd part with the guy actually jumping.

He's reaching another level.

Whether or not this is better/worse than any of his other specials to me is irrelevant, watching him grow as a stand-up is awesome to watch.

He talked about it one time (either his or someone elses podcast). He wants to incorporate something new in each special. In the last one the thing he wanted to do was acting stuff out (like having a one sided argument with Nia or throwing a ball with his son).

Then on this special, watching him act out that helicopter bit and the religion/curler bit, then having the one sided convo with his adopted son, you can tell that he learned from it, crafted and perfected it.

Yep! it's also hilarious because I never really thought of him as an animated comic but it worked well on this special IMO

I thought it was a little underwhelming as well, but still pretty funny. The best was when he called out the South for thinking the story he was telling about shooting at a burned out car was just a routine activity and not laughing hysterically

dope as always. only problem is if you listen to his podcast, it sort of spoils his jokes cause he'll talk about them on there. so it takes the surprise element out of it when doing his specials. still great tho.
this is how I can sum it up. same with Joe Rogan (who isn't as good obviously)

you heard him talk about all that and it takes the sting out of the jokes.

Glad he left in the bytch noise/child solider/adoption bit, was my favorite

Saw this yesterday and just as I expected...hilarious. Probably his weakest imo since I heard half of the material already. Mostly from his podcast, and I saw him live in Richmond earlier this year and that had some of the same bits. Not really his fault, tho I hope he does keep in mind that his podcast is getting more popular and for him to switch it up more for his next special.

My fav part was when he was talking about that dude on the plane. Those expressions he was using :dead:

Yeah the other day I was saying that Rogan's comedy is actually my least favorite thing about him. I'd rather listen to him actually laughing at Joey Diaz stories. For some reason his stand up doesn't do it for me.

You don't think I'm doing the same thing on the inside? C'mon man, let's not make this situation worse by turning this fuselage into a god damned haunted house!

Bill Burr I usually don't think of as a very animated comic but his acting out of things (one sided convos, the helicopter jumper, the psycho killer, the standing missionary position, the curling) was fukking hilarious.
