Never answered, gonna say Craig Mack. Made a classic song with a legendary remix, went Gold, and Diddy fumbled him. His indy 2nd album had a near underground classic song on it, he had all sorts of potential and was wasted.

Mos Def was just content with what he achieved and had at the time. I put him right beside Common under the underrated rappers catalog.
Late to the party but agree 100%.

I was listening to Ms. Fat Booty...and the smoothness of his delivery really stood out. It's as if he uses 20x more words than the mumble rappers...and it makes all the difference. He's telling a story and it flows like water.

he was a lyrical 50 cent. Dude had the complete package as far as a rapper goes, great flow/bars/cadence a CAN'T MISS PRODUCER in Just Blaze and the storytelling most importantly was top tier. A poor man's Nas but a "poor man's nas" is in no way a DISS when you compare him to the GOAT. He was just HIM for that moment and we all thought he'd be the one to get the south outta here

Saigon was 5 times the rapper papoose was, better at literally everything. not many people were making better music around that time

Not a waste as such, cos he’s great, but still think under the right label Pharoah Monch could’ve been a star (or at least much bigger than he is).

Reed dollars. I preferred him over meek but honestly I prefer any artist in that era over meek he was the weakest one

Canibus fumble the ball hard, pause. Wyclef was the wrong producer for him. I get he stuck with for the loyalty but he should have limited him to three tracks only and get primo timbo ect
