Y’all must have been around unique groups of people because the folks I know who grew up in two-parent married households are on average more well adjusted adults than those I know who didn’t. And that’s adjusting for similar race, family income, etc. It truly is the most powerful emotional stabilizing force you can give a child. Even the ones I know who grew up struggling in two-parent married households have the mentality “damn my parents really stayed together despite the struggles, I gotta do well to repay them” mentality.

Facts. I’m young but I have the mentality that if I get married (I won’t have kids out of wedlock), marriage is a good test run for 1-2 years to really see how compatible you are living with another woman while married before having children. I’d much rather get divorced after 2-3 years with no child than have a child out of wedlock and forced to co-parent.
