How was this better than Tetsuo and Youth?
Lupe's album to me was Lupe was spitting but that album didn't connect to me like Food & Liquor and The Cool did. That album is headphone music to me.
It's all around better outside of the lyrics.. It's production is better. The flows are a better match with the direction of the album.
These are the best 2 albums this year for me, but Tetsuo and Youth is the best so far IMO.
One album is a conceptual album and the other follows the traditional hiphop release format, they're hard to compare, but on the surface, if I go off of how many tracks I deem skippable, Lupe's album wins. The lowest rating I can give a song on that album is a 4 out of 5. Where on this one, there's a few that I can give a 3 to 3.5 for... I'm not as big on Stay Down (this has grown on me though) or Deep as others are off this album. But I'm really not feeling that I Know song.
Luckily he closed it out well though. Bonus tracks are cool too
