Pleasantly surprised by this premiere.

Still may fall off the rails, but looks good thus far. Set up some real good tension with Bonnie's guilt and Mary Louise's suspicious self always hovering over Celeste. Abigail, the pampered lily white teenager is annoying, but if it's primarily used to drive Madeline storyline, I'm good with it.

I was wondering about this as well, I think they didn’t really encourage her too either because the book was originally set in Australia vs Monterey and they wanted to allude to that, or because her underlying character is not supposed to be American,but came later in life.

Meh premiere. Really should've ended after S1. Even in the "weeks ahead" preview, I don't know how long this show can lean on the aftermath of Perry's incident.

Will keep watching, but I'm skeptical.

Thought it was atrocious. The writing was a train wreck, imo.

We were just down this road when a show loses its source material (the book) and what happens. Won't do that again. I'm out. Enjoy the season, brehs.

#demthrones had certain points it had to achieve in order to reach its conclusion. That is not what big little lies is trying to do. This show is about First world porn (living in lap of luxury, big houses, fancy clothes, extravagant parties, sedans and SUVs), with performances being hyperbole and people being the extra version of themselves. Its about the journey, not the destination. And what would be the destination, Zoe Kravitz character is right, if they told the police the truth. None of them would get in trouble, at least not the four white women. Don't be shocked at the end of these seven episodes that there is no resolution, mostly because they doesn't have to be

i aint gonna lie, this chick dancing in the surf, fully clothed like tide aint never coming in, and her co-worker coming around the corner to tell her stop being weird, yeah, that scene fukked up. And white women wear wigs/weaves now, that's just what they do, been that way for at least five years

and Perry didn't get created out of nothing, so of course Mary Louise is going to be poison

And you know they was going to manufacture a way for Meryl Steep to have to beef with Reese Witherspoon

IRL, i get challenged/ tested all the time, the drama on the screen not too farfetched

I don't know what show you guys thought BLL is. The writing was never exactly Mad Men levels. Season 1 was just as campy as this.
