Big Boi trending on Twitter for being elite MC

Outkast fans love both. People will do this Big Boi is better stuff off and on acting like we don’t know he’s nice. Same people ain’t said nothing about his music post Outkast… Big just recently put a song out with Sleepy Brown. who’s really talking about it though?

iono bout anywhere else but big boi gets his love on the coil...when intentions dropped ft cee-lo for the big sleepover album...boys fukked with it....hell all 3 singles got love...

they both get praises over here no matter what they do...dre gets the cliches solo bullshyt...but them boys get love over here

the problem is 3k is more of a poet with insane wordplay. More introspective.

Already a given based on Outkast but his solo career cemented that. Sir Lucious is a borderline classic and the other two were nice.

Big Boi's a straight up "MC's MC" so maybe was overlooked compared to Andre's more out there style and personality but to me Sir Lucious was better than the last two Outkast albums. Thing is though cacs, music journalists and especially cac music journalists love the "eccentric genius" type musician and Andre definitely fits that role so no surprise he got so much more of the mainstream love starting around Stankonia

Good to see "No Cap" getting some love - I've fukked with all of the singles from "The Big Sleepover" - good timing to get this love as album drops soon.

I think the only thing that edges 3 Stacks over Big Boi is that he can be a lot more personal / introspective, whereas Big Boi is typically more on some fly/emcee shyt. Big Boi is still clearly an elite level emcee though.

It has nothing to do with cacs. EVERYBODY just sleeps on Big Boi for whatever reason. And when people do decide to give him his props, it's all reactionary. That Twitter post and this thread is proof of that. NEVER do people just outright say "you know what Big Boi is a Top 5, Top 10 MC" or even "GOAT". When people prop Big Boi, it's ALWAYS because people are putting a GOAT tag on something Andre 3000 did.

As great as Sir Lucious is, ya'll don't even make appreciation threads or even anniversary threads on it. Big Boi raps all over Speakerboxxx has Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors, the joint album with Phantogram, and Boomiverse, but NOBODY mentions his solo catalog EXCEPT when it's to make the point of how much better Big Boi is than Andre and NEVER to make the case of Big Boi actually being great on his own merits. Why is that?

I always thought Big Boi and Andre were on the same level, talent-wise. It all depends on your preference. They compliment each other well. I never listened to an OutKast track and thought either got murdered on the track by the other.

You will never hear a true day one Outkast fan debate or suggest one was or is better than the other. They are the perfect duo.

You're telling me people didn't hear Andre on "Thought Process" and that verse started the murmurs of people saying Andre was elite. Before that, Andre let loose on a TLC song. Then on their biggest album pre 2003, Stankonia, fans finally got treated to a solo Andre 3000 song in the form of "?" after the previous two Kast albums had at least one Big Boi song without Andre 3000. "?" had 3 Stacks spittin over an unorthodox beat still managing to float on it with his flow and delivery while still having substance. So when people who like to compare MC's looked at "Thought Process" vs "Dirty South" and "?" vs the Big Boi solo songs, you can't sit there and not see how people walked away with rating Andre as elite while underrating Big Boi.

Don't think it's unreasonable to bring up the solo albums talking about the two. Especially Sir Lucious because on that one Big Boi basically made a good Outkast album without Andre. But Andre will always be the media and mainstream darling because of the image and he's "unique"

If u from ATL u can confirm this for me. I used to be in ATL every summer cause I got fam down there and they ALWAYS showed mad love to Big Boi and a lot of the time even more than 3K. shyt switched around like 04 or 05 or so.

That is my point. Why isn't any of this ever brought up to make the case for Big Boi being a GOAT without it being a reaction to Andre 3000 being the topic of discussion. How many arguments have there actually been about Big Boi being a GOAT?

If you need a a solo album to even be in contention (according to posters who apply this members of duos and groups) to be GOAT and posters are out here saying Big Boi is >>>>>> Andre, why don't they ever put Big Boi in those ranks when the question of Top MC's is randomly posed?

Also, Big Boi has multiple songs from his new album with Sleepy Brown out here. All of them dope. Andre 3000 does one feature and it has more discussion surrounding it than Big's whole saying, yet people want to treat this whole notion of Andre 3000 being better or a GOAT like it's some media hype created by cacs as if The Booth itself doesn't feed into it. People are actually out here saying the verse has them in tears.
