My boss from Minneapolis is in town this week and just asked me if I can come in to the office on Thursday so we can connect. I was going to use lack of childcare for my son as an excuse but then another boss just sent me a message saying that she was planning on coming in on Wednesday but if I come in Thursday, she’ll come in too. Then she added that it would be really nice if I can come in to connect with my other boss in person since she’s in town.


Ugh. I’m low key irritated because it will look bad if I don’t come in but a part of me dgaf at the same time.

The only incentive is that my office sits on Lake Norman so it’s super nice and the food in the cafeteria is good.

I do like my bosses but I’m not trying to drive almost 40 minutes to the office. I also don’t want them to think I have the flexibility to come in. I was planning on continuing to use my son as an excuse for why I want to go fully remote.

If they lowered their prices this wouldn't be a problem, especially restaurants. I can meal prep for the week on $25 easy. If I ate out every I'd be spending $60 a week and be flabby

Welp. That's the reason why I only applied to WFH that were truly fully remote. Made sure to apply for ones that didn't have an office in my state too

Then in the interview I made sure several times that there was no office trips.

Damn near every time they asked me a question. I'd answer and go back to making sure they're no trips to the office
