This! None of this has to do with data breaches. These old white men don't like that people are watching the first video recorded genocide in real time and it's fueling protests against their policies. They also don't like that real Black and Native American history that they've been trying to ban and curtail are being taught and spread to the entire world on a platform they have no control over. The amount of learning going on in HistoryTikTok, Book TikTok, Politics TikTok is threatening the chokehold our government has had on information. Information is power, and this is their way of trying to restrict it.

None of that shyt is information that people didn't already have. No major media outlet or information resource in America is allowed to be owned by foreign entities. If you needed TikTok to tell you that Israel was gonna fukk Gaza up, sorry to say, but you might have already been an idiot.

This isn't a restricting of speech. You have a litany of platforms you can say the EXACT SAME shyt on. That's like saying closing down one road in your city is creating an open air prison. The unfortunate thing about this is it had no traction in the Senate like it did in the House.

It wasn't a major issue anyone was really caring about, that's why they tacked in on this bill with addresses National Securities.

Now it basically got attached to the same bill as the Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan issues so it had to be voted on all at once, which is something a lot more people will vote on.

This is really on the House Democrats for pushing the Bill through, not the Senate - nobody really cared there, otherwise it would've been it's own thing.
