My question as well. While this will help some, COL is out of control in some places and wages aren't keeping up. But anything that makes higher education accessible to those who want it without putting them in a lifetime of debt I'm for it

NYC implemented universal pre K a few years back. Definitely reduces the deficit that many poor children used to enter the public school system with.

Preschool is called Pre-K because it’s before Kindergarten.

Preschool is massive for childcare, will change things dramatically with the right people overseeing.

The real problem tho is the subjects you learn in school actual life skills need to be taught 6-12, or 14 in this case. Or else we’ll just end up right back in the same predicament.

Algebra wasn’t sht and math got harder but was manageable, but Accounting is a whole nother monster

Yep free pre k would be huge for black folks and a lot of other folks. From a financial and academic standpoint because it helps children have solid foundations academically.

Think how many kids that don't start school until kindergarten cause day care is too high. So the kid stays with a family member who really doesn't teach them anything and when they start kindergarten they are so behind. Which makes them behind year after year after year.

And real talk a lot of black folks sleeping on this cause there will be an injection of billions into early childhood education. Which means tons of opportunities for black folks to open daycares and or get jobs in early childhood education.

Realize that many school districts will get a flush of funds from the government allowing them to either create their own pre k programs. Or do joint pre k ventures with day cares. Plus it will create more teacher jobs (pre k teachers) at the school districts and the pre k teacher salaries will raise because they will be under the school district teacher umbrella.

This is all huge...never forget that teacher jobs (along with military or defense jobs, post office and government jobs) have always been the backbone of the black middle class and how a lot of black wealth been created for decades.
