Eh, unfortunately when Presidents pardon or commute sentences, you'll get a couple bad ones thrown in there. These type of people tend to have connections or sympathy from people in power sadly. I'm sure if we went back to Obama's list we'd find some bad ones too.

Normal procedure is that the the pardons/commutes are cleared by the Justice Department before making their way to the President's desk for a signature. Many (but not all) times the President don't even look at individual cases. They just sign away.

You are only being compared in terms of your selective outrage. The other part refers solely to @the cac mamba, who's been posting a lot of them since he returned from the bushes.

Anyway, as far as the subject of the thread. You were wrong in your initial claim and instead of acknowledging that, you ignored it until you found a story you could exploit as a "gotcha" to deflect from being wrong. It made no sense for you to even respond to my post with that, especially since it was already addressed. What point were you making?

To reiterate my point about the story, there are people who deserve to have their sentences commuted, especially if they were unfairly imprisoned as a result of outdated or unjust laws. People like Michael Conahan shouldn't. If anyone should face the full weight of their consequences, it's people like him. He should have served the remaining 20 months on his sentence, especially since he was already on home confinement.
