Trump is the worst thing that has happened to the Republican Party. People are crashing out over this bozo. Man literally sat there and did nothing after encouraging the events of Jan 6th. And Republicans continue to try and brush that under the rug.
They need to separate themselves from this bozo, but refuse to.
They had a chance with Haley. Some of the party embraces her and sees the writing on the wall. 77k for her in Georgia after she dropped out says a lot. But overall the remaining base want to keep him going out of pride. To say he isn't an ideal candidate is putting it really lightly.
He had a lot of help in '16. Comey. The Russian interference. A country that hadn't gotten to know him well. All that fizzled out in '20. It hasn't gained any more traction by now.
Obama got 2 terms so this guy should get 2 terms. It's a pride thing.
The sad thing is if they had gotten behind the border bill it would have made them look better down ballot. If they had left IVF alone until after the election it would have helped down ballot too. But they keep giving trump what he wants. Like a lot of posters here they think it's 2016. This is an entirely different voting public than then. Isn't gonna be any Comey running his mouth. Isn't gonna be any third party votes to split things up. Even bots on the internet are having a harder and harder time spreading misinformation, which more and more folks have learned to take notice to.
It's such a different time it seems like 80 years ago instead of 8.
