Not trying to shame you for not knowing but crime stats arent what you think they are. A lot of people have no clue how crime stats are even created or how they calculate it.
Then you have the dark figures of crime which goes into how much unreported crime the stats didnt get. Really its a numbers game. Those stats basically determine the FUNDING the police get. If the police report a crime problem, they get more funding. They can overexaggerate numbers. Turn a misdemeanor to a felony. They bend the laws and the rules as to manipulate the numbers or they create a crime wave which is why they emptied out the prisons. They CLAIM to have let out nonviolent offenders but... apparently not. They are manufacturing a crime wave.

I live in the worse hood in Detroit and have been there off and on since I was a child, and it's been top 3 violent zips for like 40 years. Your family is scary as hell and goofy. The people where I live aren't afraid to do basic shyt. I've seen 2 murders and we ( my family) have seen 15 happen in the area, just the other day some house I just rehabbed got shot up because of the house next door to it. Anyway, this is a social economic and resource issue that easy to fix on a macro level if the government wanted to fix it - on the flip side
NTM - there are at least 50 other areas in the USA more violent than the Chi... at least in Chicago 80% of the city is safe so there are outlets.
