I agree 110% that churches are a bane to our unity because again, as I was saying before, they are purveyors of misinformation (even tho it's mostly religious misinformation in their case).

But I don't know if I can agree that they give rise to the politicians in our community. True, folks go to churches but they only go there because that's where the majority of the ppl be at on Sundays and it's a custom for folks to come to the church to seek votes.

But most church leaders nowadays don't endorse candidates from the pulpit because it will mess with their tax free status. So they just invite candidates to come and speak.

If it wasn't the churches that candidates were going to, they would simply go somewhere else to reach the ppl.

So again I can't say they are the cause of the political leadership that we have.

I think it's a matter of us getting informed. If we got informed collectively, then we would see charlatans for what they are (political, religious and any other type of charlatan).

I wasnt trying to come at you hard earlier but the point that I was trying to make is that we have these computers at our disposal with access to information. Let's get online and learn about the political system and about how things work.

Many of our ppl pass incorrect info along, info that no one has bothered to look up and fact check. If we would start fact checking what we're told and what we think we know, we would discover so much.

We'll never be informed because there is too much division within the black community.. Too many jobs in politics that black people currently have anyway.. So obviously they'll believe in a system that they work for.. Regardless of the fact that it has failed too many black people in that same community.. Some brothers and sisters sellout black people for personal gains..

No different than the preachers who don't even believe in the bible, running mega churches because of the money it brings..

I've lived in the 48205, 48213 and around those my whole life and I dont know anyone who is walking around scared. My aunt lives on Southside Chicago and she old and isnt fearful lol.

Explain to me why people should be scared.

Most innocent shootings are rare. Most killings are beef and conflicted related. Also much of the violence in general is Domestic related. 14k or 17k murders and at least 4k are spouse related. 50% of of killings in general are in the southern states yet no president ever threaten the south with horrible laws.

So yeah there is a chance, but a very small chance.
It's about a million women right now in the usa shot by a partner or family member for example.... or 50% of abuse victims lose there jobs, 20% of children see a parent get their ass beat... and like 80% of those end up w felonies , and more implications...
If we want to talk about the issue that affects civilians then most of the time its..... domestic related or anger related aka poverty related.
I could be wrong.... but I know that stats show gang shootings and gang members arent responsible for most murder, YET young black so called youth and gang members are the target.
Also... police kill over 1k a year, they should be targeted.

Long story short the point of the thread is poor policy and calling the shyt chiraq... is agenda based, when if you eliminated All illegal guns and all gang members got suddenly vanished by Thanos ..... then you only solve 13% of homicides. however if you do these policies you help ruin communities and affect over 70% of black people.

Yes, it is. Chicago had 774 murders in 2020. No other city had more. Looking at per capita is pointless when Chicago is a big, world class city of 2M. Everyone knows the murders are coming from specific concentrated locations. Chicago gang culture has spread nationwide and Chicago transplants are raising hell in the Illinois suburbs and the other mid-sized Midwestern metros.

Imagine how shook Chicago would be if a true organic cease-fire was maintained between rival groups.

Would be nice but these gangs are so fractional and splintered. It's not like the 80s-90s when GDs rode together and beefed with BPS or VLs, there's not hierarchy outside of who has a line on product, so it's basically block to block teens beefing with each other some repping the same "gang" as in GD or whatever but different cliques or gangs within that overall GD umbrella that really means nothing since they're not answering to Larry Hoover or any real leadership like before.

Only gangs in the city with much actual hierarchy and structure are Latin Kings, which have that kinda Cosa Nostra like structure and they're the closest with the actual cartels bringing in weight. BDs are pretty unified and have some semblance of hierarchy when you get past the street level teens.

What all this amounts to is that in indiana you can use the 'gun show loophole' to just buy a weapon cash with little to no trace and drive 45 mins back to the city...that's where the majority of these firearms are coming from. They're not cartels or foreign crime syndicates or terrorists, it's just indiana having loose gun laws as a red state and being so close to chicago, but you'll never hear this talked about on Fox News you'll only hear about is minority gangs killing each other in illinois that has strict ass gun laws.
