It's a kick back/money laundering scheme for defense contractors. American tax dollars go to Israel. Israel then uses that money to buy weapons from American defense companies. Basically a handout to the military industrial complex.

Exactly I don't know why its so hard for folks to understand this.

Its the same with campaign finance. You give money to said country like Israel and said country gives funds to your campaign when you run.

Even in defense contractors have donors located in DC who give campaign donations on the companies behalf to politicians.

My understanding was that india had closer relations to the russians, than to the US. I recall them making their stand with them a while back over fighter jet/weapons sales. They bucked the morality and sole supplier strings that typically come with US deals. Furthermore, they had that socialist wave(70s-90s) that alienated India from every western nation not named Britain.
