That edX PowerBI Course expired, never opened it lol.
I built a couple PB Dashboards at work, PowerBI is pretty neat; you can just type and it will suggest a visual. Getting it exactly how I wanted wasn't easy & pretty tedious but I got it in a presentable format.
Where are you guys located & how is the job market for this line of work?
Chicago.
My boss is trying to get my current work off of my plate so that I can spend more time learning about Power BI. As a manager, she thinks it's the future and would be great for the company and our partners internally (and she has hinted it would be a great skillset if I decided to move to another company too).
Personally, my (limited) experience is that Tableau was more popular among the early adopter, data-savvy companies in industries like Finance, Healthcare & Insurance. Most of the remaining industries are just starting to really take data viz seriously and are likely leveraging their current technology providers (read: they probably already invest in Microsoft for services like Office365, Outlook/Teams, Azure, etc) and so I think that the companies currently advertising for skills in Power BI are just drops in a bucket compared to the eventual demand for Power BI
Even the governmental agencies, which typically trail the pack, are getting more data-savvy, in a hurry with all of the public-facing Covid dashboards & KPIs that determine local shutdowns. It is happening on local levels, and to a degree nationally but I envision that it will pick up even more so with Biden's administration and their interest in data-driven decision-making
