I signed up for that Power BI class.
I've been getting hit up a lot for DE roles in the Healthcare domain. Went through final rd interviews w/ JP Morgan on Friday, hoping to hear back from them in the next few days.
Any BI pros able to talk about how they're actually being utilized by their respective companies?
Thx breh. I received the initial offer this morning, report date is June 1st. Going to start negotiations over the next few days. I'm following this blog post from Haseeb Qureshi for my negotiation strategy.I interviewed at a couple of places. I wasn't ready for the level of data management they needed. This XML document Continuity of Care Document - Wikipedia that ain't nothing to play with.
Good luck on the interview.
I am responsible for the standard reporting packages for our general clientele and our VIP clientele. Also, I share SLA and on-boarding metrics for new and existing products. My team has a few Excel wizards and they have created a few macro-enabled workbooks to streamline the process a good deal so a lot of reports entail me clicking a button, checking the data to see if anything looks funky (and if so, investigate the Excel formulas and VBA, or digging into the SQL Server database for inconsistencies) and then sharing internally/externally. There are a lot of random ad-hoc requests each week that get knocked out as well. They come from marketing, sales, prospective clients, existing clients, HR, etc.Any BI pros able to talk about how they're actually being utilized by their respective companies?
Good looks bro. I saw your thread & thought this was for Networking certs as well. I'll be enrolling hopefully others do as well.I don't have the time to take on another course right now, but I enrolled in the Pluralsight + Microsoft partnership that I created a thread about. They definitely could've had a better roll out though because I don't think people are immediately realizing how much value is being provided for free. I don't know anything about Azure personally and I initially assumed it would be centered around something like computer networking certifications....

...But, after getting used to their website and how the learning curriculum is broken down (Multiple required courses for the same profession are bundled into Paths), I realize that these learning paths are basically holding your hand through the learning requirements for the new Microsoft certs replacing MCSA/MCSE certs. These are technically Azure-related but not directly.
For example, digging around a bit, I was able to find the entire Power BI path is free even though it isn't clearly listed in their roll out. It isn't that they are offering one or two hour-long courses to get your feet wet with Power BI. They have 34 hours of content guiding you through the process.
I think they may have purposefully been vague about what was free so that users wouldn't cherry pick their offerings, but you can eat off of this for real.
Helpful map showing how all the Azure Certs and Exams tie into each other
How important is learning Julia? I have a decent grasp of Python but I need to practice more.
Julia is a competitor to Python and R in the Data Science. The difference between it and the other two is that Julia is a more like C++ in performance compared to R and Python.
