Makes sense.

I'm not a Yonce stan....but she does seem to get a ridiculous amount of hate for someone that never does or says anything provocative/controversial (relative to other folks in music).

Something about just rubs people the wrong way. Taylor Swift gets hate but she calls out everyone and their momma in half her songs. Bey just wins awards and makes money but folks hate her as much or more.

Usually with shyt like that, there's an undercurrent....a backstory where the person is a complete azz to work with and treats people like shyt. She doesn't have a rep for being especially difficult. People love Jay (I think) more than her.

NO WAY I'd believe that if someone said it back when they did Crazy In Love. Bey was damn near America sweetheart but that shyt slowly went away.

Ironically if she was more "real" and had less filter, she'd probably get smoke for that too. Look at the smoke Bron gets for being vocal about shyt while MJ kept his mouth shut.
thats how women are

they do it online ...whole time they at everyshow

Just like her recent concert specials have all had low ratings outside of Coachella. Especially that black is king film.

What other recent concert special she has?

Her popularity is waning. She is 20+ years in so it's no surprise. But music sales are down across the board. So while Renaissance is probably her worst performing album it was still top 10, 5 in sells for 2021. Renaissance did 330k its first week and is platinum

Her last 2 tours grossed 250 mill plus each. The one she is gearing up for now is projected to do 300mill +. She just had to add dates

For a blk female artist she is going great. For a vertan artist she is doin great

Ivy Park x Addidas imho the biggest problem was bad marketing and the designs were impractical

Good. That’s what they get for dropping Kanye. They’ll never recover that amount of Yeezy type revenue ever again. Like Drake said “fukk Adidas, nikka.”

I go to the adidas outlet store maybe 41 times a year. I have NEVER seen anything from Ivy Park there. I see EVERY other collaborations there regardless of the price. They’ll mark Stella Mcartney down 75% and that shyt still be $150.

If it wasn’t selling wouldn’t it go to the outlets?
Not necessarily. Certain celebrities like Beyoncé tend to put clauses in merch contracts that their clothes can’t be sold in outlets and marked down. They do so to protect their brand image.

Bey stans rock everything as her fans are diverse.

Bougie ...Philly jawns....ratchets..strippers...college bookworms.....they all listen to bey..

This last album was like a dance/house album right? With no lead single or video? Not suprised it didn't do well. Add on top of that the media dislikes artists who arent accessible.

We seen it with MJ....we saw it recently with The Weeknd..we're seeing g it with Beyonce.

The media then feels obligated to "humble" the artist. They did it with Mike for the BAD album with that album only getting a Grammy for Bruce swedien engineer work. We saw it with The weeknd getting shafted for Blinding Lights...it's now happening to Beyonce.

The industry always feels like they have to "humble" black artists...especially ones who don't play the game like wearing dresses or other demonic shyt they do:dame:
Or maybe after 20 years she can't be on scorching hot fire like her popularity peak.

I don't think it's that deep.

As large, vocal (and rabid) as the Bey-Hive is, I've come to realize that there is an even bigger "silent majority" that does not like Beyonce. AT ALL. So I don't find this news surprising, because it's very easy to overestimate exactly how popular Beyonce, and what the return would be on any of her endeavors.

Just look at what happened this week at the Grammy's, with Harry Styles winning AOTY over Renaissance. One of the voter's (anonymous) reasoning for not voting for Beyonce was that she "wins too much." However, Beyonce's never won album of the year, and yet every time she loses it's always a controversy because her fan base tells us it's an "injustice". Beyonce's never even had the biggest selling album of the year for any of her albums.

The silent majority doesn't like her, and they all use the common, vague reasoning for why they don't. Just check reddit. :mjpls:

I don't hate Beyonce, but how does she have almost more grammys than Mike, Whitney, Mariah, Aretha, Gladys, and Patti COMBINED when she doesn't really have any classic albums. (I added MJ in there so the numbers can match up.)

Blue Ivy even has a grammy.

That's wild.
