First...I couldn't care less about music critics, not trying to come at you, but music is the field i feel critics have the least credibility due to the highly subjective nature of the art

Two people are buying in hook line and sinker into the cheating thing which is driving the "beyonce is being so open and vulnerable narrative" as opposed to looking at the bigger picture which is the journey thru ups and downs of relationships

Three, of course her stans are eating it up so....

Four, the fact that people are overlooking how she fell into the same use of vulgarity (at least in the first half) that other r&b/urban artist get criticized for is laughable

Fifth, I'll admit sonically it's a risk (for beyonce) and she is doing some things she hasn't done before, but this, to me, is negated by it being a calculated move, constructed by a team, and it simply not sounding good (to me). Maybe this is her, and if so, it's pushing me further away from her as she's always been just "aight" to me. But I don't thnk it is, 4 was the music she wanted to make and it didn't do well commercially, so now she's doing all she can to make sure that doesn't happen again, it's working, but on this album, the music suffers severely IMO

The album isn't impressive, of course there are good songs, but this isn't seeing 4 or beyonce

I like kendricks verse, I like the message of the song but I thought the beat was trash. Some NBA playoffs commercial sounding shyt.


Plus the hiphop head in me heard that sample already so I was turned off from jump.

I prefer the album she released before this one, although this is good, don't get me wrong, but I feel like she should've made an album as shyt was going down, which probably would've made their relationship issues worse... lol it's good she waited.

I didnt question your reasons or opinion

Personally i couldnt give a solitary damn about the cheating stuff, nor do I think Beyonce is a great recording artist. But this is a great album.

• Its amazing to me how Beyonce doesnt grow as an artist. She wastes her potential so much. She is like a female Michael Jackson when it comes to her perfectionist singing and dancing.

But unlike him she just doesnt make classic records and is so damn one dimentional.

No Stan, This is a great album. I don't see how you could like the last album and not this one of course you can and have your own opinion, but I just don't get it.

Even without the visuals speaking as someone who didn't get to catch the begining of the HBO special and was confused jumping the middle. I heard the full album before I saw the visuals. I loved the album first.
