She and her writers put their foot in this album, damn. I didn't expect the lyrics to be so refined and provocative. When I heard the album was about cheating, I figured it was some calculated, semi exploitative shyt, but after listening to it, she's gotta be drawing from some personal stuff; some of the lyrics seemed too analogous to events in her own personal life to just be conjured out of nothing.

Oh, and :dame: but I heard rumors a long time ago that Beyonce is really insecure, if Jay has really cheated that damn much and she's still staying, then maybe those rumors are true.

An absolute great project from top to bottom. I don't even listen to Beyonce being a man and all, but the presentation itself made me respect the audio and visual effort that went into this. Even better when the album itself is fire, say what you will but there's a reason most people pay attention when she drops something.

:patrice:

At the same time this isn't a good look for dudes with girlfriends and ex's.. I'm already seeing at least 7 red flags off top I might have to deal with in the next week

& this is why I said you won't get it b/c you're not a woman who has been cheated on. It is exactly what I said it is. Being cheated on can affect women menatlly, physically, emotionally and spiritually. You think it's more, but it's not. The movie and poetry listed the stages of emotions/thoughts such as denial anger ect. I laready listed in here in one of my posts. Dramatic huh? That's all there is to it. Taking the sour parts ofr relationships and trying to turn it sweet. Lemonade.

@Qohelet
Here is the list from the movie. The stages that I was talking about.

Intuition
Denial
Anger
Apathy
Emptiness
Accountability
Reformation
Forgiveness
Ressurection
Hope Redemption

Here are the lyrics.
Beyoncé – LEMONADE Lyrics | Genius

& again, you are wrong.lol

You're a male though, so it's expected :queen:

The whole album is telling her relationship's cheating story and tying it to black women's love and how this cheating thing/mistreatment in black relationships has been going on thoughout history, like a cycle, even in her own family. The only song that wasn't directly about that was "freedom".

Come back later and tell me I'm right after the moive goes off if you're smart and actually get it by them
Why are you specifically associating cheating and relationship problems with black people?
Literally not any different with other races and they would easily understand despite what you're saying.
Now on the other hand a lot of the empowerment messages aside from even the blatant racial messages are clearly (mainly) aimed at black women, even the stuff about cheating, but there's nothing specific about actual relationship problems to black people.

I am explaining lemonade. The focus of lemonade was on black women, black relationships, black divorce (usually caused by cheating in bey's mom's case, in bey's case and from my experience) and black families.

I don't think he's going to do that. He's trying to keep her. According to her songs, he cried over her the last time she tried to leave for cheating. This is his last chance. I doubt he'd try to mess it up in a song.
:mjlol: jay don't cry over bytches. Until I see it with my own eyes.

Not any different than other race relationship troubles, I can easily go to Mexican and white artists I've listened to and see the same messages (aside from the blatantly racial messages)
Main difference is Beyonce's black so she's aiming towards black women empowerment.
Saying someone wouldn't get this because they're not in relationships with black people is silly imo.

How do we feel about artists exposing their personal business for money and fame? It's a little bit tawdry. It's like the media prays and prays on scandal and here you are basically co signing them. Just give them a reason for existing.

Idk. She said he did in her song. He's old, so it's possible. lol

He's not the "player" "pimp" that he was when he was younger, single and first came out.

I told the other guy he doesn't get it b/c he isn't a (black) woman who has dealt with cheating in a relationship.

He said this was about black people's relationship with god and sprituality or something like that and he's completely wrong.

Excluding the song "freedom", This only mentoined god b/c lots of traditional black women turn to god and religion when experiencing trouble in their relationship. Especially married people who took vows before god.

I'm pretty sure white women who have been cheated on can relate to this as well, but black women can relate to it more/better, I believe.
