No, jay z bytched to the Grammys and America for her this year. She’ll get her sympathy Grammy for her “courageous” cross over to country :mjlol:

Going back to this post, I had a passing thought that Kendrick would win AOTY for Mr. Morale. I figured it was a long shot, but since he had already lost a couple times, and this album was his least accessible, I could see the Grammys throwing him a bone.

But he's done. He's never getting anywhere close to that award. :mjcry:

He was never getting AOTY Mr Morale of he couldn’t get it for To Pimp A Butterfly.

I thought it would be more of a "here bytch, damn" award. Because they know he should have already won.

Honestly, I thought DAMN was his best chance of winning. It checked every box. Bruno makes dope music, but it was one of those times where the Academy just wanted to piss people off.

Damn was definitely his best chance. It was the highest selling album of the year AND the most acclaimed.

And Bruno Mars sucks

But Mr Morale was more akin to TPAB than Damn so I knew it had no chance to win. Especially with Adele and Beyonce in the lineup.

I was shocked that Harry Styles won

There are plenty of serious Grammy voters but quite a few who think exactly like this. Just non serious individuals lol. But the dominant voters are the ones who largely vote based on the label material they receive for albums. You sold how many albums? You had how many hits? Your tiktok engagements were what? Who is your manager? AOTY.

That's why I'm never gonna understand why people get mad about the big awards. We might never see a rapper get AOTY again, unless it's some type of Macklemore shyt. I'm more impressed by the individual genre awards because at least those people listened to the albums and respect it. Why do I care if a bunch of heavy metal execs and voters decided to help push a Harry Styles album to AOTY because some guys they know played guitar or bass on the record.

SMH she's like a reverse culture vulture, a black one who just hops on whatever is hot. If she was new in another era she just may be a flop with the music she makes these days.

This is pathetic and if I'm Jay I would advise her against this. She should be making better music if you ask me.

Always funny when an internet hater says “if you ask me”. The answer is “no one was” roughly 100% of the time.

There are people on Reddit who would make better Grammy voters. :mjlol:

They really voted for Harry's House because it was all over TikTok and Mr. Morale wasn't. I know "Late Night Talking" was a hit, but if they want to play that game, Fine Line was inescapable. I heard "Adore You" and "Watermelon Sugar" everywhere. I listened to "As It Was" the other day and I couldn't believe it was so popular. "Break My Soul" and "Easy on Me" were bigger hits in the streets.:scust:
