im honestly reconsidering whether or not bloomberg is really the man to beat trump at this point
his entire campaign will consist of shytting on trump, reminding trump that he's a real billionaire and trump isnt. literally trump's achille's heel. paired with a strong black woman VP, that we'll literally be setting up to be the next president of the united states?
im not voting for bloomberg in the primary, but im not being naive either
Trump has spent his entire life hanging out with all sorts of people wealthier than him. Step 1: Bloomberg brags he has more money. Step 2: ......? How does Trump feeling sore contribute to Trump losing any votes? Literally his entire personality is aggrievement, he'll just brag about being taller than Bloomberg or getting more chicks or being more alpha in public or having bigger hands.
And there's a long history of black folk who compromise with racist white folk in their corruption not exactly being the leaders we want. Any black woman who joins up with Bloomberg will literally be propping up a rich racist who has spent his entire career destroying black lives, will have to lie and morally compromise herself in the process, and all on the "hope" that she'll be the next president, when she'll have to overcome the racists pissed at her for being black AND the non-racists who are pissed off at her for having joined with the racists. That's a hell of an uphill battle. A VP hasn't ascended to the presidency in over 30 years.
That excites their base. They'll be fine.
What are we doing for our base?
The five issues Democrats care most about right now are health care, the economy, wealth and income inequality, climate change, and beating Trump. Those are by far the most important issues, nothing else tags at even 5% of the base as their primary. Education and gun policy are also labeled as very high priority though not many voters have them as the #1 priority.
If Sanders is running then he's going to be pushing 5-6 of those 7 issues really hard. Especially on health care, education, and wealth inequality, he's positioned himself as "the" candidate for the job.
