Little Brother showing FSU love
“That was crazy,” senior safety Jamal Carter said. “That was a crazy game, but they finished though. That’s what you call finishing. That's why FSU is better than us”
Head coach Mark Richt caught the second half of the game as the Seminoles out-scored the Rebels 32-6 after missing the first half due to working on the gameplan for this week’s game against FAU.
“I really only saw Florida State rolling,” Richt said. “That’s what I saw. It was very impressive with what they did to be down like they were. I don’t know how they got down. I think the commentators said there were 11 penalties in the first half or something crazy like that, so it was probably a big part of it.
“But all I saw was a team dominating a really good Ole Miss team.”
The impressive second half performance by Florida State stood out to the Hurricanes.
“They finish games and that’s really what it’s all about—just finishing games,” senior cornerback Adrian Colbert said. “Coming out there and it doesn’t really matter how you start—it does matter, but as long as you finish the game anything can happen.”
Miami has lost six consecutive games to Florida State and nine of 11 with its only two fluke wins since 2004 coming in 2007 (37-29) and 2009 (38-34)—both in Tallahassee.
Miami returns to action on Saturday with a home game against FAU.
“We’ve got to go out every week and play every opponent like they’re Florida State, because they're the best team in the nation” Colbert said.
