What the hell are you talking about? Shaq's TS% was always around .58
and durants is .64

there is no way in hell that I would treat Durant as a more efficient player than shaq just because he is better at free throws.
they need to adjust the weight free throws have on that to reflect more accurately a player's TS%
cause shaq could actually have the occasional game where he shot 100% from the from floor off the strength of dunks. If Durant did that the media would blow up.

Great game by Melo...shyt was truly amazing and :salute: him for it. If nikkas could just leave it at that it would be all good.

that's even worse because it gives more strength to 3pt%. all of these advanced statistic are a lil bit shady to me.
just go by each number individually if you want an accurate view of a players strengths and weaknesses. trying inflate 3pt% because its worth an extra point is misleading.

I'll give you an example.
random dude shoots 32% for the season. sports writer knows random dude is popular so he invents a new stat that plays to random dudes strengths and downplays his weaknesses.
now his 32% from the field is equal to 50% because making contested shot should count as double. Sounds legit to me. :camby:

LOL at this post, let's downplay the most difficult shot and elevate the easiest brehs. then let's also complain that free points(freethrows) shouldn't be factor in with TS%

there is no more difficult or easier shot fool.
its determined by a players skillset.
shooting a three is easier for Durant than dunking on a 7 footer in a low post back to basket situation is.
and the opposite is true for shaq.
there is no generalized difficulty of shots.
if shaqs style of play is easier than why doesn't everybody play like that? :ohhh:

You make no sense. There are more difficult shots than others. Stop waving the Melo pompoms.

like a hookshot is more difficult than a jumper, but your statistician doesn't give that more credit.

melo pompoms :wtf:
you the one arguing melo's side dumbass,
im saying close to the basket players deserve at much credit for post moves as shooter deserve for three pointers.

close to the basket players do get credit which is why tyson chandler has some of the highest TS%'s of all time. it's shaqs fault he couldn't hit freethrows.

I'm talking efficiency as far as big men go, shaqs shots were efficient, the issue with shaq was the fact that he sucked at freethrows. it's shaqs fault that he left over 5000 points on the floor during his entire career. and yes a dunk/hook etc is a easier shot then a 3pt attempt

then why doesn't every bigman just go into the paint and score 30 a night off of dunks and hooks?
why does it take so long for players to develop a post game versus other aspects of their game?

every big men isn't Shaq Oneal, shaq is one of the most skilled big men of all time. as far as a variety of shots outside of the paint he wasn't efficient. it's not a knock on him as a player it was his skillset he's a post player. in this thread we are comparing 2 JUMP SHOOTERS which is why were are utilizing FG%, eFG% as well as TS%. if you want to continue discussing shaq go that way --------------->
