For the 1st scene of the movie it was a lot to decipher
So Bane had the Dr told him his entire plan and then he escaped somehow?
Yeah I guess, one of those things that sounds good, but doesn't really seem to matter. Dead or alive nobody seemed too concerned about him
Still didn't get what the Dr. actually did, I guess he weaponized the bomb somehow, but seems like Morgan Freeman and Bale were already worried the bomb could easily backfire before the Dr. got involved.
At the end of the day the whole thing seemed a little unnecessary/over the top and was more or a, let's have a real cool opening scene and not really care if it doesn't make a lot of sense.
the C.I.A. picked up dr. peval to question him, possibly the information on the nuclear reactor. bane, needing dr. peval, planned on kidnapping dr. peval by allowing himself get caught. bane's plan was to kidnap dr. peval and make it look like an accidental death by plane crash so the C.I.A. or any other government agency won't hunt for him.
dr. peval was the one that CREATED the reactor and the only one that knows how start it up. bruce wayne was aware of the potential danger the reactor can become but hoped once the defect that can transform it into something nuclear can be figured out in order for the original intent of the reactor can be used which was it to provide environmentally safe and free energy for the entire city.
bruce kept it hidden from everyone, even miranda tate in fear of it being taken into the wrong hands. miranda tate NEEDED to know the location of reactor AND needed dr. peval to initiate it. this is why the OPENING scene was so important. it's not only introduce bane, but it shows how they kidnapped dr. peval.
dr. peval, and how he was kidnapped is important to the story.
