It's good. I stopped after episode 4. Dudes are so ruthless. Genny needs to toughen up or he ain't gonna make it in the life.

I'm on episode 10 of season 2:
Ciro just caught Patrizia and I'm pretty sure they gonna kill her and her brother
Why does everyone like Narcos so much when it's a cheap, short knock off of the actual show "El Patron del Mal".
I got a lot to say on this, esp. since I've seen all 3 series.
El Patron del Mal was the Colombian version of events re: Pablo and the Medellin Cartel. It went to much deeper and darker places than Narcos ever could, based on the subject matter and the parties involved. For me, it was the superior Pablo Escobar series by far. They showed some US involvement, but most definitely, at arm's length, at best. Only thing that may turn people off would be the Spanish language and English subtitles thing. But, I ended up binge watching the 70+ episodes (approx. 60 mins each) over the course of a week.
Narcos is only built to be Americanized entertainment, with a loose interpretation of what transpired, to make Americans feel good. It's good for what it is.
Having traveled to Colombia extensively for many years now, Narcos lost me when, in the early episodes, a blond American was running around the barrio caliente in the 1980s chasing drug dealers, speaking no Spanish at all and no fear. THAT was a major exaggeration, to say the least. Then him beating up a taxi driver down in Bogota??? Dude would not have left that block alive. US intel guys, back in that time, wouldn't move anywhere in Colombia without a heavy team and local resources. They HAD to be escorted by police/private security from the airport to their hotel, and all around.
Narcos insinuated heavy US involvement in everything, which really wasn't the case. Just another attempt at rewriting history. The US provided technology for logistics, at best. Narcos had no clue on how to retell the AUC/FARC portion of events during Escobar's season, which led to even more damage being done to Colombia 20 years after Pablo died. The Castranos would've been nastier villains in that, since they dealt with both Pablo's world and the civil war's world. The Cali Cartel season was much more watered down than what really went down. Narcos appeared to have limited (or selective) source materials for the series. I can only imagine what the Mexican season will be. I'll watch it, but El Chapo is the standard for Mexican mafiosos, but even that left a ton of stuff out.
Gomorrah is in the similar gritty, non-glamorized style that El Patron del Mal was. Nothing glamorous about that life. Even Genny had to grow up out of that. Ciro was a demon, but something got in my eye when they took out his daughter. Pietro and Imma were straight demons. Malammore was a demon. Schianel is a demon and terrorized her daughter-in-law, even though she brought it on herself too. Patrizia is now a demon. Nobody has any redeeming values anymore. O'prinicipe had the block for a minute, had the African chick, the tiger and the cars.....seemed like a good dude....they had to get him out of there..... It's not about making anyone feel comfortable. It's a grimy world and Gomorrah pulls you into it. You don't feel that great after watching it....and wanting to see more. Hahaha.
Gomorrah for me, by far, over Narcos. 3 seasons deep with the 4th on the way in 2019.
El Patron del Mal > Gomorrah > Narcos
You watch Suburra? I heard it was kinda like GomorrahI got a lot to say on this, esp. since I've seen all 3 series.
