X is actually winning this?

Why's that a surprise? It was recognized as an instant classic that changed the direction of East Coast hip hop

RD was seen as a very dope album but was overlooked for years and had minimal impact. It took years of lobbying by Jay and his fans for RS to reach "consensus classic" status

I don't get how nikkas are surprised...they must have not been there. Both are of equal quality

NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
RD had better beats and lyricism, IDAHIH had better club anthems and more energy. Depends on which of the 2 you are looking for..
This is a really wack way of describing IDAHIH. shyt got like 2 club anthems the whole album, IDAHIH had more creativity. It had a crazy vibe to it. It had better and more creative storytelling. It introduced a new sound. It was much more than club anthems. shyt was a dark album actually.

I love Jay and preferred RD for years. I wasnt big into X in the 90s bc i didnt think he was lyrical enough.

I revisited Dark in recent years and yea....it was a more impactful album and X was a better rhymer thsn i gave him credit for, solid storyteller too

Dark might be a top 5 debut album ever

RD, in my head this isn't even debatable and unlike RD...I bought X's first two albums damn near sunrise the day they dropped.
