It's gonna be 1 hour. I understand what you're saying Hex. Let's just say, his involvement might be oversold, for the good of the show. Not saying
he won't be involved. But he has other fires cooking. His focus won't be on it like it was BB.
Networks do this all the time. They take a huge name like VINCE or JJ ABRAMS or SPIELBERG and oversell their involvement, for the marketing of the show. I can't blame networks for doing it either. It's a way to bring viewers in.
Look at Scorcese. HBO sold viewers on his involvement in BOARDWALK EMPIRE (yes he directed the pilot) but he's not that involved in the show. As we all know BE is Terrance Winter's show. And yes, I understand Scorcese is a director and Vince is a writer, but Networks like the big name when launching a new show. It gives audiences that reassurance that the show is quality and they can trust watching it.

I feel you and I'm sure that's what he would like to do. He did mention he'd like to be Abrams, with a few projects he oversees but he doesn't seem to have the personally for that. He's a control freak. Gould is a veteran "BB" writer, and the creator of Saul, so I'd prefer that Gilligan bounces and does other shyt. But given how obsessive he is, IMO that's not likely to happen. I can't even say he'd bounce for a certain deal or any amount of money, he turned down $75 million a couple months ago. Hopefully you're right though.

"BB" writer George Mastras ("Crawl Space", "Dead Freight", "To'hajiilee", etc.) has signed a contract with HBO to develop new shows for them. So now that's two former "BB" writers that probably won't be working on "Better Call Saul":

Man sometimes I just cant get into prequels knowing what happens to the characters already. Especially when theyre favorites and I know they get killed later on.
Part of me trusts these guys but the other part says they should leave the BB Universe alone.

I would agree but look at Gus. People went from
"this guy is a drug lord?" in his first appearance to damn near wishing he was the main character in season 4 based on 2-3 episodes.We know Saul from "BB", but we really don't know anything about him or what he's been through to get to where he is, which is what the show is about.
