New interview with Vince Gilligan in The Hollywood Reporter:

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/breaking-bads-vince-gilligan-reveals-648425

I'll summarize it:

1. The writing team will be as many people as they can get from "BB", with the exception of writers like Moira Walley-Beckett ("Ozymandias") that is starting her own show.

2. It'll most likely air August/October 2014.

3. Mike will most likely be a major character.

4. It could potentially feature small cameos from every major "BB" character. "Anyone who died is obviously still alive in a prequel" is what he said.

5. This isn't related to the prequel, but FX asked Vince Gilligan to direct the first episode of "Tyrant", a new show by Gideon Raff, the creator of the Israeli series the first season of "Homeland" is based on.

he said if you equate breaking bad to 75% drama and 25% comedy, better call saul will be the inverse of that ratio

While they're still working through plot, they anticipate the series being set in an office with a much lighter tone than that of its predecessor. If Bad was 75 percent dramatic and 25 percent comedic, Saul will be the opposite. The challenge has been finding the dramatic tension in their lead character. Unlike Walter White, who was damaged and needy, Saul has been portrayed as happy-go-lucky until now. Says Gilligan, "We've had to find the ongoing itch that Saul needs to scratch, so to speak, or else we wouldn't have much of a show."

At the very least Vince Gilligan will be in the writer's room for the entire 1st season. Gould has been on "BB" since season 1 so I doubt his approach will be any different.

With it being a comedy, hopefully Bill Burr and Lavelle Crawford are regulars. Both fantastic comedians and could use some more shine and this shoe would do it. I liked their characters too.

Speaking Of That They Never Said What Happened With Burrs Character, He Was Just Gone

I Know Hank And Gomez Said He Skipped Town To Lavelle But I Figured They Made That shyt Up Along With Everything Else They Made Up To Intimidate Him
