Sad list..not impressed, no one truly outstanding in this era.

Wouldn't you argue that Kendrick is 'outstanding'?

I'd say the competition maybe is lacking, but there are one or two outstanding acts that would have even left great impressions in the 90s and 2000s, Kendrick being one of them.

The fact that he's running away with this says a lot. Plus he won MVPs in 2011, 2012 and 2015 already.

The talent pool today has shrunken drastically. Kendrick is a good rapper that can impress todays audience. But, would he have thrived in the 90s as he is now or would he have been just another rap cat lost in sea of amazing talent?

I think he would have thrived. Not necessarily because of his skill level (how many 90s lyrical experts are forgotten now e.g. Prince Po), but because he knows how to make top quality, long-lasting music in album form. He is a visionary in that regard, and that will always hold up well imo.

@mobbinfms @BmoreGorilla @MidnightMercenary @666 ReVeNGe 666 @g-ice @Da King @tuckdog @StillNotSoft @charmander @Buckeye Fever @SirBiatch @DillaTUDE

too lazy to think more names....

My vote going to Offset.

Culture was one of the best albums of 2017 and we really got to see the emergence of Offset and Takeoff especially, proving that Quavo is not the only one with superstar appeal in the trio.

While I think Takeoff was the MVP of that album, when you consider all the other guest features and projects that Offset was heavily involved in throughout the year, I have to give him the edge.

Offset wins dude has had some of the best verses this year.. he has outrapped everyone that has been on a track with him..

Then I have to give it to Mozzy dude has released some of the best music this year

Of course of Kendrick will get it but damn was lackluster and all of his features was garbage especially that new freezer..

You should start a next to blow poll.. moneybagg yo is gonna have a huge 2018

A few years ago this would have been way more than 4 pages

Your opinion would have been met with your life being threatened :mjcry:

It's a new day in age I guess :picard:

Nobody cares about who is the best anymore :wow:

Mumble young man mumble

No one cares because it's obvious that no one this year made any music that really resonates. Forced accolades can only go so far.

Most of the love is fraudulent. And it's not as much as you would think

Kinda surprised that Future doesn't have more votes considering he released two albums this year.

What do Future fans make of the albums? Which is the better album? I personally prefer FUTURE (self-titled).

Ya’ll gassing him up too much. :ld:

Kendrick is nice but he wouldn’t be top tier in every era.

I beg to differ, and again not so much lyrical quality or amazing mic skills, but because his albums always hit the mark with regards to critical acclaim. Now, replay value should come into question and Kendrick's material is often found lacking in that regard. I still think he would be right up there though.

Do you think any "new school" MCs would thrive in the golden age?
