Exactly, they always kind of hinted to it because obviously if you're into killing kids, molesting them isn't too far off. I never really understood why Freddy had a right to be mad when he came back? nikka, you was guilty!

I don't remember any of the films (except the remake) outright say he molested kids....they did call him a child killer though. thats how i always saw him.

I never understood either why he wanted revenge even though he was guilty....now if he was innocent that would have been an interesting twist in the remake

You're right that they never outright hinted at it, but he was specifically killing little kids which is what got him put on trial. Even in today society, normally when a little kid is killed by an adult they don't know, they usually got molested also. It's just a natural connection I suppose. It's true though, they should have had him innocent in the remake. Everything would make sense in that light.
