No particular order.
Cabin in the Woods-A clever script and some interesting performances. This satire on horror movies went unnoticed by the public, but i have a feeling this is going to become a cult classic.
Django Unchained-the period of slavery was used as the backdrop for director Quentin Tarantino's homage to the spaghetti western. Dicaprio. Waltz, and Jackson were all fantastic. It's rare to see an African-american ride off into the sunset. You have to get through graphic depictions of slavery to get to the happy ending though.
Argo-Another fantastic genre mash up. This movie is a thriller, a black comedy, an political saitire all rolled into one and director Ben Affleck pulls it off with ease.
The Dark Knight Rises-Christopher Nolan's conclusion to his Dark Knight trilogy, ends with gusto and sentimentality. A little bloated, but once it takes off your on a fantastic ride.
Skyfall- James Bond returned with a vengeance to take on a villainous foe played the great Javier Bardem. Kudos to the beautiful cinematography from legend Roger Deakins.
Honorable Mention- Denzel Washington's peformance in Flight.
Didn't want to post my best of until i seen Lincoln and zero dark thirty, but the year is over in a few days so screw it.
