If u want pizza u gotta be in BK : Grimaldi's, DiFara's, Totonnos, L&B Spumoni Gardens (Sicilian slices only) .....if ur in queens: New Park Pizza (Howard Beach)

Manhattan's pizza is :ld: u can find decent hole in the wall spots but for the most part stick to the legendary spots......the original Ray's is dope but theres so many imitation spots its hard to discern what the real one is cuz i myself dont even remember....

If u like Chinese food.......Wo Hop in chinatown, shyt is crack rocks. (there's 2 of em, go to the one where u walk down a flight of stairs, its 24 hours too)

Katz's deli is good but overrated and overpriced as fukkkkkkk....$20 for a corned beef and pastrami sandwhich???? :pacspit: Theres jewish delis all over NY that are just as good, but if youre only in town for a short time go there i guess :manny:

If u wanna do a dope fast food spot...hit Roll n Roaster on Emmons ave n cop the roast beef n cheese ( a close competitor is Brennan and Carr on Ave U in Marine Park but im partial to Ro Ro)

Other than that, you're in NYC....every neighborhood has great eating, just look it up....hopefully i pointed out some spots u didnt know about tho...don't be afraid to explore the outer boroughs either....Im from Queens so i'm partial to shyt near me, but i'm sure some brehs in the BX n Uptown can tell you different.....Some of my brooklyn brehs, let this boy know where to get some bangin soul/carribean food as well

breh, only place to get a falafel is at mamouns, i aint been to the midtown one but the st marks and mcdougal ones are on point. nearly every casual street foodesque eatery is on point on mcdougal btw

but in all honesty, the new york food experience is more about the daily connections (no homo) you make. there are obvious michelin star restaurants you can go to to get the best food, but its different. everyone should at least live in manhattan for a year in their 20s or 30s.

chicken and rice cart on 53rd and 6th at 4 am after late night is great too

Sylvia's BEEN fell off... Last time I was there had to be back in the mid 90s when I went with a group of friends. By that point, white people had gotten comfortable coming to Harlem. Also, Sylvia Woods had started branching out into canned goods, and other restaurants. I think this made the quality of the food suffer. It was funny; when we was eating, all the black folks was adding seasoning to the food cause it was too bland, and the white folks was :eat: like nothing.

My favorite spot that me and wifey always have to hit when we go back is Flor De Mayo over on the West Side. It's a Chinese/Spanish spot with real good food. We went there last time up top, after my uncle's funeral when we got tired of my family's ratchet-ness... LOL

That's moderately priced for New York, unfortunately.

OP--try the Boathouse in Central Park if you'd like a classy brunch overlooking a pond.
