didn't happen in a day..

when he dropped off Jada it was probably around 8 p.m. and when the movie ended the sun was starting to come up.

so technically it happened over a span of two days but it was within 24 hours.

depends on which calender. in ancient times a "day" was sunset to sunset and only the sun hours were used to track time, the night hours were only used in astrology. the "midnight" 24 hour days being the official "day" is a relatively recent phenomenon. some cultures still use sunset to sunset to measure a "day", even when they use 12 hour clocks and am and pm.

:yeshrug:

and since it hasn't been mentioned, the TV show 24 took place in 24 hours.

I've always loves this conceit, for whatever reason...and rarely does a movie like this end up terrible, imo

There are the OBVIOUS ones, like Die Hard, The Breakfast Club, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Training Day, Reservoir Dogs, etc.....but here are some you maybe/probably/might not have seen....but should.

Elephant
(Warning....you might hate this. Or you'll love it)

The Taking of Pelham 123....the original
so much better than the remake it's embarrassing

His Girl Friday
Rapid fire dialogue...and GREAT performances

Rope
Hitchcock's most underrated film imo

12 Angry Men
Probably should be in the earlier mentions, as it's a god damn CLASSIC...but yeah, see this ASAP if you haven't

:usure: Does Reservoir Dogs technically count, sure the main plot/premise takes place in one day but other parts surely dont. When Mr Blonde gets out of jail and visits Joe and Eddie, when Mr White meets with Joe about the job, When Mr. Orange is talking to the black cop about the job and when he's practicing his story telling and then when he actually tells them the story.<------Unless Im mistaken none of these took place on the same day as the bank robbery. Its just the nonlinearity of it would have you think they were flashbacks which leads to a couple points, does a character and/or characters having flashbacks count as taking place in a day and would the "flashbacks" in Reservoir Dogs be considered Flasbacks.

You guys that recommended 12 angry men.. what version of the film should I peep? There's one from 1957 and one 1997.. Are both cool? I prefer newer movies but not if it's nothing like the original one..

The original is my favorite, but the remake is off the hook as well.

Peep the cast:

Jurors 1 through 12 were portrayed by Courtney B. Vance; Ossie Davis; George C. Scott, Armin Mueller-Stahl, Dorian Harewood, James Gandolfini, Tony Danza, Jack Lemmon, Hume Cronyn, Mykelti Williamson, Edward James Olmos and William Petersen.
