Used Toyota Corolla or Honda Civic.
My first car!!! :blessed: '95 edition. And I bought it myself in full. Worked the movies my senior year... all I'd eat was a chicken sandwich and a hi-c for lunch. Or the chicken fried steak meal (much more filling). Then I picked up a second job once I graduated at a warehouse.

Being young and dumb I'd withdraw the money every pay period, racking up fees I could kept but I wanted to SEE the money, feel it in my hands.... I stored it all in a pop tart box and brought it when I finally purchased :dead: That car did right by me tho

Any ford Sedan

Vics, tauruses, fusions, and focuses are cheap but dependable and easy to maintain.

Old Pontiacs can be good first cars too. Basically just a fancier chevy so parts are still readily available. Gonna be a G6, grand prix, or grand am

If he really likes cars, get a civic si. It's a manual but front wheel drive and 4 cylinder, so he can have fun without killing himself

2010-2012 Subaru WRX. If you change the oil every 5k, and arent redlining it all the time, its a reliable car. You can get a good conditioned one for $10k. Its AWD if you have to worrry about snow in winter. Kids still think its cool, but friends will pressure him to drive fast. Its a great car to learn how to work on, and has a large community of people who mod and repair their own.
